What is Ephedra, Ephedrine and Ma Huang?
Ephedra has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for well over 5000 years. Mahuang, the herb that ephedra is derived from, is used in Chinese medicine to treat asthma, sweating, and water retention. It is a very effective, all natural broncho-dilating with great decongesting properties. Moreover, ephedra suppresses appetite and increases the body’s metabolism. supplements present an unreasonable risk of
illness or injury to consumers. The data showed
little evidence of ephedra's effectiveness,
except for short-term weight loss, while
confirming that the substance raises blood
pressure and stresses the heart. The increased
risk of heart problems and strokes negates any
benefits of weight loss.
